This point cloud engine is built into the Autodesk 2014 & 2015 line of products. All other raw formats such as Faro’s FWS/FLS and Leica’s PTS/PTX need to be processed into RCS/RCP’s in order to be used. It serves as an ‘in-product’ point cloud viewer while taking advantage of the. That’s right! If you bring a point cloud into AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, or just about any other Autodesk design application you will be using the ReCap point cloud engine. The ReCap point cloud engine is the programmatic driver for all Point Cloud tools in all design applications. Fortunately, ReCap encompasses all of the above!
